Meet Jigsaw. A 12 year old who attends the school where I teach. She is part of the English program which means that she receives three hours of classes in English and two in Thai every day. She’s hardworking, extremely proud of her country, and represents the vision of Anubaan Chiang Mai (our school)- cultivating a Thai identity in a globalized world.
How do you define a good day?
When I fight with my sister, because I don’t like quiet days.
If you had the possibility to get a message across to a large group of people what would your message be?
I want everyone to smile, because if we are angry with each other and we smile a little we won’t be angry anymore.
What one book should everyone read?
“Adventure in the Mermaid World” by Pieretta Dawn.
What does your future hold?
I want to be the prime minister. I want Thailand to be like the other countries to be clean, to have nice people, and to have good rules.
What are you most proud of?
I got the first place in the mathematics contest, and first place of the writing essays at school. Also, I will be very proud when I study medicine one day.
Who are the most important people in your life and why?
My father, Mother, and Grandmother. My Father because he taught me knowledge and I use most of it, it helped me get first place. My Mother because she taught me how to be a good person. My Grandmother because she took care of me when my Father and Mother were busy, when I was young she read me stories at night for bedtime.
Where is your favorite place in Chiang Mai?
Doi Inthanon National Park, because I like the cold weather and it has very beautiful pagodas and flowers.
Why is your life beautiful?
My life is beautiful because I have good friends and family, and I am confident.
